The Jasper Hall Farm Internship program is designed to introduce people to community life for a fixed short period of time, typically between 2 and 6 months. The intern will in almost all ways live like a regular member of Jasper Hall. Farm facilities and resources will be available to them, interns will live in regular community residences and will be part of the regular labor system.

Typically interns will work between 5 and 20 hours on their area of specialty in a given week. All full members living at Jasper Hall work 25 hours per week and so the intern will spend the rest of their time working in other community areas, probably both income-producing and domestic areas. These include but are not limited to: gardening, woodworking, cooking, child care, publishing,, business development/management, building, conference organizing.

While Interns earn no income, all normal living costs (food, housing, utilities etc.) are covered while they are here. There is little use of money internally in the community and it is quite possible to not spend any money while at Jasper Hall and live comfortably.

If you are interested only in a highly professional internship, we are perhaps a poor choice for your desired experience.
